Chalgrove School Parking and Road Safety Pledge
Dear Parents and Carers,
At Chalgrove, the safety of our children is always our top priority – especially during the busy drop-off and pick-up times. Recently, we have noticed an increase in unsafe and inconsiderate parking around the school, including:
-
Cars parking on bends, blocking visibility
-
Drivers performing three-point turns in the road
-
Vehicles pulling into residents’ driveways to turn around
These actions create risks for our children, cause disruption for staff and local residents, and add to congestion at these busy times.
We are asking all parents and carers to support us in creating a safer environment around the school by completing our Parent/Carer Road Safety Pledge.
This pledge is part of our ongoing work to:
-
Reduce congestion and dangerous parking around the school
-
Encourage safer driving habits
-
Protect all children, families, staff, and local residents on their journeys to and from school

🚗 The School’s Commitment to Road Safety 🚗
The school takes road safety very seriously and will actively monitor conditions by:
-
Observing traffic and parking during drop-off and pick-up times
-
Recording vehicle registration numbers of those who do not follow road safety rules
-
Raising awareness by sharing concerns in the school newsletter and on the notice board
-
Working with local authorities (including the council and police) to report unsafe driving and parking
Thank you for your continued support and for playing your part in protecting our children. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
