The Chalgrove Curriculum

Our Ethos
At Chalgrove, our ethos is to develop well-rounded, happy children who have enquiring minds and a thirst for knowledge and for life.

Our Curriculum
Our school curriculum is designed to ensure that children leave Chalgrove as resilient, independent learners with a genuine love of learning. We aim for our pupils to be curious about the world around them, to demonstrate open-mindedness, tolerance, and understanding, to have a broad general knowledge, and to collaborate effectively in teams—learning from one another. Every child is given the opportunity to experience a wide range of subjects and activities so that each individual has the chance to shine.

Teachers plan through a creative topic-based approach, integrating the National Curriculum via class topics or core texts. Activities are engaging and relevant, designed to enthuse children, and provide opportunities for:

  • Outdoor learning

  • Active learning

  • Questioning and research

  • Educational visits

  • Real-life practical experiences

  • An extensive range of after-school clubs and sporting activities

Our Motto and Values
Our school motto, chosen by our children, is:
“If you believe, you can achieve.”

This reflects our belief that all children can succeed when provided with the right environment, motivation, and support. Our core school values are honesty, hard work, courage, respect, friendship, and resilience.
