Curriculum Overview for Year 2 Spring Term 2026
|
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back everyone. We are looking forward to seeing the children make lots of progress this Spring term and have lots of exciting activities planned.
Here is some useful information about how things will run during Spring term: Homework will be set each Thursday and needs to be uploaded to Google Classroom by the following Thursday.
Our PE days remain on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Children must come to school wearing the appropriate named PE kit on those days. PE kits are: blue/black shorts, white T-shirt and plimsolls or trainers – a black/navy tracksuit is suggested for colder weather. Please remember that long hair should be tied back and earrings should not be worn on PE days. Please provide your child with a named water bottle. This should be brought in every day.
The government provides a piece of fruit/vegetable for the children to enjoy during morning break. If you want to send your child in with a healthy snack for morning breaks, packed lunches and after school, please follow the recent guidance regarding what to provide: biscuits, sweets, chocolate and crisps should not be brought into school and all snacks must be nut free and not include sesame.
Reading - Children are enjoying completing their quizzes and earning their badge on Accelerated Reader. Please continue to read for a minimum of 15 minutes a day and come to school with your book bag, reading book and reading record, ready to complete a quiz.
Please do not hesitate to come and speak to us about any worries or concerns, or if there is anything about which you require further information.
We would really appreciate any donations to the class from our Amazon wish list. If you are able to do so, please use the link to purchase items https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/24XOF469BW5Z?ref_=wl_share Year 2 Team |
