Chalgrove PTA

Welcome to the Chalgrove School PTA!

Whether you are a parent of a child attending the school or a member of the school staff, you are automatically a member of our PTA.

"So, what does this mean?" you might be wondering. It means that you will be kept informed about all the plans, projects, and events organized by the PTA. Furthermore, you will be invited to actively participate and contribute to making these initiatives a reality.

What exactly is a PTA, and what do they do?

A PTA stands for Parent-Teacher Association. It is an organization that collaborates to raise essential additional funds, which are then used to support the school and enhance the educational, mental, and social well-being of our students through various fundraising activities. We operate under a legally defined Constitution that outlines our objectives and organizational structure. Additionally, we are a registered charity (RCN 1203912) with trustees who ensure that everything is organized and conducted in compliance with the law.

Meet our dedicated trustees:

      Thérèse Laverton       Marlena Kropiwnicka

      Tatiana Paklonskaya      Julia Carroll

Why is it necessary to raise additional funds?

In straightforward terms, government funding is insufficient to cover the rising and unexpected expenses associated with running the school. For instance, when we encounter issues like a malfunctioning intercom system or blocked toilets, we often have to dip into an already tight budget to address them.

How can you become involved?

There are numerous ways to contribute:

  • Volunteer your time: Help with event setup and clean-up, operate stalls, assist with cooking, or participate in after-school sales, among other activities.
  • Make donations: Offer monetary support or contribute items such as food, books, clothing when specific requests are made.
  • Utilize your skills: Contribute your expertise in tasks such as applying for funding/grants, painting, decorating, or gardening.
  • Leverage local connections: Engage with local businesses that might be interested in making donations or sponsoring our initiatives in some capacity.
  • Join our WhatsApp group: Stay updated on volunteer opportunities.

Even if your schedule is exceptionally busy (as is often the case with parents), there are ways to get involved remotely:

  • Play the Your School Lottery.
  • Shop and support us through Easy Fundraising.
  • Make one-time or recurring donations via Crowdfunder, and encourage friends, family, or businesses to do the same.

At Chalgrove, we are more than just a school; we are a community! We hope you will consider getting involved.
