NHS vaccinations and when to have them
Child Vaccinations: Quick Guide
Vaccines protect against serious diseases and work best when given at the right age. They also help protect the wider community (herd immunity).
Missed a Vaccine?
- It’s never too late to catch up.
- Contact your GP or local healthcare provider to arrange a catch-up.
- The NHS offers a catch-up programme for children and adults.
Key Messages:
- Keep your child on schedule, especially under 5s and teenagers.
- Annual flu vaccines are recommended for children aged 2–15.
- Check your child’s Red Book or speak to your GP if unsure about their vaccination history.
